Do I need a pre-purchase survey if I am buying a newer vessel?
Yes. Age does not determine condition. Manufacturing defects, deferred maintenance, accident repairs, and undisclosed modifications are found on vessels of all ages. A survey is about current condition, not build year.
Can I attend the survey?
Buyers are welcome to attend. Being present during the inspection gives you direct context for the findings in the written report and allows you to ask questions in real time.
What happens if the survey finds significant problems?

Does the seller need to be present?
